In typography, a typeface (also known as font family) is a set of one or more fonts each composed of glyphs that share common design features. Each font of a typeface has a specific weight, style, condensation, width, slant, italicization, ornamentation, and designer or foundry (and formerly size, in metal fonts).
Helvetica or Neue Haas Grotesk is a widely used sans-serif typeface developed in 1957 by Swiss typeface designer Max Miedinger with input from Eduard Hoffmann. Helvetica is a neo-grotesque or realist design, one influenced by the famous 19th century typeface Akzidenz-Grotesk and other German andSwiss designs.
Bodoni is the name given to the serif typefaces first designed by Giambattista Bodoni (1740–1813) in the late eighteenth centuryand frequently revived since. Bodoni's typefaces are classified as Didone or modern.
Times New Roman gets its name from the Times of London, the British newspaper. In 1929, the Timeshired typographer Stanley Morison of Monotype, a British font foundry, to create a new text font. Morison led the project and supervised Victor Lardent, an advertising artist for the Times, who drew the letterforms.
Paul Friedrich August Renner was a typeface designer. In 1927, he designed the Futura typeface, which became one of the most successful and most-used types of the 20th century and It was designed as a contribution on the New Frankfurt-project. Paul was born in Wernigerode, Germany and died in Hödingen.
Frutiger (pronounced with a hard g) is a series of typefaces named after its Swiss designer, Adrian Frutiger. Frutiger is ahumanist sans-serif typeface, intended to be clear and highlylegible at a distance or at small text sizes.
