Frontlit 3D Signboard for Hatay Restaurant in Al Khalidiyah Abu Dhabi

Hatay Restaurant required a front-facing signage solution that could support visibility, brand recognition, and a premium dining impression in Al Khalidiyah.

For a restaurant frontage, the signboard has to work quickly. It must help passing customers identify the brand, understand the venue, and feel that the business is established before they even look at the menu. Humans do judge restaurants by the sign outside. Tragic, predictable, and commercially useful.

The requirement was to produce a frontlit 3D signboard with strong illumination, accurate brand colour presentation, and a clean fabricated background that matched the restaurant’s identity.

The design and fabrication approach focused on combining brand accuracy, clean illumination, and a strong physical signboard presence.

The 3D plexiglass letter construction allowed Hatay’s identity to appear dimensional rather than flat. The use of 3M translucent graphics helped support consistent colour visibility across the illuminated letter faces.

The CNC-cut aluminum background added visual depth through its geometric patterning. Its powder-coated finish created a clean matte surface behind the illuminated lettering, helping the brand stand out without making the frontage look noisy.

The illumination system was built around the supplied electrical specification of Samsung Chip LEDs and Mean Well HLG Series power supplies. This gave the signboard a professional lighting setup without relying on vague promises like “maximum brightness forever,” which is not a specification, it is a bedtime story for contractors.
