The Brief: Mall Branding for High-Traffic Retail Visibility
IKEA needed mall branding and store advertising that could maintain strong brand presence inside a busy retail environment at Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi. For a large retailer, in-mall visibility is not limited to the storefront. Campaigns must appear across approach routes, pillars, escalator areas, wall surfaces, and customer movement paths.
Ninety Nine Advertising LLC was commissioned to manage the production and installation of a wide retail branding package. The requirement was to keep IKEA’s visual identity consistent across several formats while installing the graphics in a live mall environment where finish quality, timing, and surface suitability all matter.

Signage Scope Delivered for IKEA, Al-Futtaim Group
The project scope included wall branding for interior retail and mall-facing surfaces. Wall graphics helped carry campaign messages and showroom-style visuals into the customer journey.
Canvas printing and framed print production supported interior display needs, allowing campaign or brand visuals to appear in a more structured format where wall-mounted presentation was required.
Mall campaign branding formed the wider scope. This included escalator glass branding, pillar branding, double-sided blockout PVC banners, textured wallpaper, facade banners, and external billboard elements based on the supplied project data.
The package supported both internal retail storytelling and broader mall visibility. Instead of relying on one display position, the project distributed the brand across different customer sightlines inside the shopping centre.

The escalator branding used high-tack front-and-back printed stickers on both sides of the escalator rail glass, based on the supplied data. This allowed the graphics to remain visible from different directions along a high-movement mall route.
The project also included one-way vision graphics for in-store areas, supporting brand visibility while helping manage privacy and light control where glass surfaces were involved.
Pillar branding used 650 GSM heavy-duty banners to wrap structural columns with a smoother, high-saturation finish. Double-sided blockout PVC banners were produced for mall corridors, with the blockout layer helping keep graphics legible from both sides under strong mall lighting.
Interior store wall areas used high-grip textured wallpaper for a more tactile retail finish. Large-format facade banners and external billboard elements extended the campaign beyond the immediate store interior, giving IKEA a broader brand presence around the mall environment.

Project Outcome: Stronger In-Mall Brand Presence Across Customer Touchpoints in Abu Dhabi
The completed mall branding package gave IKEA a wider and more consistent campaign presence at Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi. The brand appeared across escalators, pillars, wall surfaces, banners, and display areas, helping the campaign stay visible throughout the customer journey.
For retail brands operating in high-traffic malls, this project shows how wall branding, mall campaign graphics, and large format printing can work together to support visibility beyond the storefront. Ninety Nine Advertising LLC delivered the production and installation control needed for a multi-format retail branding rollout.
