First-Surface vs. Second-Surface Application: Mounting Direction
- First-Surface (Exterior-Face Mount): The self-adhesive sticker is applied directly onto the front/outside face of the glass panel facing the viewer. Best for standard street storefronts, mall facades, and clear-access partition walls.
- Second-Surface (Interior-Face Mount): The sticker is applied directly onto the back/inside face of the glass pane, with the graphic facing outward through the glass. Best for high-rise windows or indoor malls where you want the building's glass to shield the print from outside weather, heat, and vandalism.
- Panel Alignment Standard: Both methods require a 5mm to 10mm vertical panel overlap. This prevents visible gaps if the vinyl contracts slightly under intense UAE sun exposure.
- On-Site Requirement: First-surface requires clear physical access to the front glass. Second-surface requires the indoor glass face to be completely free of blinds, handles, or blocking frames.
Gloss & Matte Lamination
- Gloss: A reflective protective finish that may increase perceived colour contrast.
- Matte: A lower-reflection option for suitable lighting conditions.
- Selection: Laminate compatibility, cleaning and expected exposure are checked for each printed film.
Installation Details: On-Site Turnkey Application Standards
- Decontamination & Deep Scraping: Every glass panel undergoes a multi-step mechanical and chemical deep clean immediately before sticker mounting. Heavy-duty blades scrape away invisible construction overspray, silicone residue, and dust along the rubber gaskets.
- Chemical Degreasing: We use rapid-evaporating isopropyl degreasing agents to strip away the oily film left behind by standard UAE dust and traffic exhaust. The adhesive choice and glass preparation affect bonding.
- Squeegee Panel Consolidation: Panels are sequentially aligned and compressed using industrial felt-tipped squeegees. This helps reduce trapped air and align the film on the prepared glass.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do opaque window stickers block the view and the light?
Standard opaque window vinyl blocks the view through the covered glass. When you also need to stop interior light and visible shadows, we use black-back blockout vinyl.
Can opaque window graphics be installed from inside?
Yes. The graphics can be prepared for installation behind the glass while remaining visible from outside. This protects the printed surface from public contact and direct outdoor exposure.
What is the difference between grey-back and black-back vinyl?
Grey-back opaque vinyl gives stronger hiding power over old graphics, frames and bright backgrounds. Black-back blockout vinyl is used when the job also requires total light and shadow blockout.
Can opaque window vinyl be removed later?
Yes. We use removable-grade opaque vinyl for temporary campaigns, fit-out cover-ups and planned lease handovers. The adhesive type must be chosen before production, and professional removal is recommended.
