The Brief: Large-Scale Mall Signage for Maximum Visibility at Al Shamkhah, Abu Dhabi
Makani Shopping Centre in Al Shamkhah required large-scale mall signage that could make the retail destination visible across the local area. For a shopping centre, exterior signage is a landmark asset. It supports brand recognition, visitor confidence, and approach visibility before customers reach the car park or entrance.
The project required three major signage sets, including two primary sets measuring 600 cm × 1400 cm and one larger set measuring 1800 cm × 750 cm. Ninety Nine Advertising LLC was commissioned to deliver the fabrication, illumination, and high-altitude installation work needed for a signage package at this scale.
Signage Scope Delivered for Makani Al Shamkha Shopping Center, Abu Dhabi
The main scope covered building facade signage for the Makani Shopping Centre exterior. These signs established the shopping centre identity on the building elevation and helped the property become easier to recognise from surrounding roads and approach routes.
Rooftop signage logic was also part of the project because the signage had to perform at major scale and elevated installation heights. The work included building signage that needed to remain legible from distance, not just from the immediate entrance.
Outdoor signage formed the broader service category, including fabrication, illumination, finishing, and controlled installation planning for an exposed Abu Dhabi environment.

Design & Fabrication Solution
Each letter was fabricated from high-grade 3D aluminium with a powder-coated finish. The project used PLEXIGLAS front-face acrylic to support light transmission and a clean illuminated appearance.
The supplied project data confirms Samsung chip LED modules and Mean Well HLG-series drivers for the illuminated signage. These components supported consistent brightness across large sign faces.
The installation required high-altitude coordination. The signage was installed at heights of up to 28 metres on the main facade and 14 metres on the rear service entrance, based on the supplied project data. This required heavy-lifting equipment and strict safety planning.
RAL matching was used to maintain the green and blue brand colours across different sign sets and heights. This mattered because large signs are viewed from different distances and light conditions, making colour consistency important for the overall facade presentation.
The completed technical package combined 3D aluminium fabrication, acrylic faces, illuminated components, powder-coated finishing, and high-altitude installation.
